A superb example of the classic Shingle-style cottage in the tradition of Bar Harbor’s Golden Era, the residence is rich in architectural detail with eyebrow windows, curved roof lines, turrets, and a sweeping porch the length of the residence with a grand curved granite stairway to the lawn.

Throughout the years the original character of the home has been elegantly preserved, with full updating and restoration enhancing the carefully achieved patina of it architectural pedigree. The home is fully winterized; and appliances, satellite, security systems, and weather station are all state-of-the-art. Each of the 10 bedrooms has a private bath and many have fireplaces.

The property at Far From the Wolf consists of 4.6± partially wooded acres, with 200± feet of bold oceanfront all with spectacular mountain, island, and ocean views. Not to be forgotten is a wonderful tea house located on the bold granite shoreline at the ocean’s edge, the only one on Frenchman Bay, and now irreplaceable due to its proximity to the water. The tea house has a granite fireplace and massive views of the mountains and islands of the bay.
